August Review Menu

Building a repertoire (a list of pieces you can play) is part of every young musician’s development. It’s so easy to forget the pieces you’ve already learned if they are not a regular part of your violin practice. For the month of August, Ms. Morgan is challenging her Book 1 students to complete the following review menus to prepare for Group Class on September 10th. Students can choose from a 1-day, 2-day or 3-day rotation per week (imagining 6 days of practice, 7th day is your lesson). Lessons may consist of a heavy review component this month, be prepared to perform all your pieces beginning with Variation A.

Tips for making it easier:

  • After technique, make review the priority every day.

  • Break up practice sessions into two chunks: one chunk for review only and a second chunk for new material.

  • If you are easily forgetting pieces, bump up to more review songs per day (i.e. move from 3 day to 2 day).
