J&M Strings
Suzuki Violin Program
Located in the Pasadena area of Los Angeles.
What makes our violin program unique?
-
All students have one private lesson per week. Students are expected regular weekly lessons during the calendar year, with typical school breaks observed. Students under 12 and beginners must have a parent attend to help with daily practice at home.
-
All students attend group class in addition to private lessons–it’s one of the many unique aspects of Suzuki Method. Group class reinforces what is being learned in lessons, builds studio community, and it’s simply fun to make music together! Group class has 20 meetings during the school year.
-
Developing bravery is one of the most important aspects of being a performer. Students get many opportunities to perform, from studio recitals to community performances.
-
Suzuki lessons are special because of the cornerstones of the philosophy. An early start, parent involvement, learning by ear, group class, and loving encouragement make this method unique and successful.
Miss. Morgan is an SAA registered Suzuki teacher with comprehensive training and over a decade of experience.
“What separates a good teacher from a great one is that the great ones take a true interest in their students. Morgan is a GREAT teacher who is genuinely interested in her students.”

Long time student Sophie Yera graduated in 2021–fortunately we got a chance to say goodbye in-person as teacher and student. I couldn’t be more excited for Sophie’s future–she is an immensely creative, intelligent, and passionate young adult who is bound to do great things. During the pandemic she produced two EPs with original songs! I wanted to spend a moment with her to see if she had any words of wisdom for new students.
